He loves to keep his hands full by participating in product development conversations, marketing, business development and the Customer Experience strategies. Experienced entre- and intrapreneur; awards and commendations; President & CEO (2016 - 2017) – Startup Longmont, 501(c)(3) organization chartered to support entrepreneurship in Longmont, CO; Instructor, College of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Colorado – Boulder, graduate and under-graduate courses in Marketing, Product Development and Design, and New Ventures; founding member and lead mentor – CatalyzeCU; MBA UC Davis with focus on Product Development and Alternative Energy; BS Industrial Management, Carnegie Mellon University with focus on Factory and Operations Management.
Co-Founder and chief technologist, Darren is one of the iconic person in life who can say he loves what he does. He lays out the technology strategy for the QZetta product line and looks after the community of technology resources engaged with the company. A technology leader with multi-industry experience, from startups through global brands such as Disney and Crocs; technology roles include a founding software engineer at NextAction (now Datalogix, Oracle Data Cloud), CIO/CTO, and Chief Strategy Officer for startup organizations in Colorado; President & CEO – Startup Longmont, 501(c)(3) organization chartered to support entrepreneurship in Longmont, CO; degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology from Middlesex University, London.

Nancy Alderson, SVP Brand & Customer Experience, GfK
Nancy leads strategic brand research programs and builds client partnerships. Working with some of the most iconic global brands, she has helped develop brands, communications, and offerings at each stage of the brand lifecycle. With over 20 years of experience, she holds rich experience in a wide range of industries – including travel, media, CPG, food and beverage, spirits, retail, telecommunications, automotive, and B2B. She most recently led the quantitative division at Egg Strategy, and previously held positions at Hall & Partners, Synovate, and Millward Brown. She holds an MBA from DePaul University.
Nicole DeBoom, CEO & Founder of Skirt Sports
A standout swimmer (1988 Olympic Trials), graduate of Yale University, and ex-professional triathlete; during the late stage of her racing career, Nicole created and introduced the first running skirt, and launched Skirt Sports; today, Skirt Sports is a national women’s apparel brand offering a full line of products that fit real women’s bodies and support their busy running lives, and you can find Nicole with her customers at the Skirt Sports Boulder flagship store, helping women change their lives through her non-profit organization Running Start, interviewing visionaries for her popular podcast Run This World, and chasing around her young daughter, Wilder.
Gary Burandt, Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver
Served as a US Navy Ops Officer aboard the USS GANNET. Worked in marketing at GE Plastics before globetrotting as MD of Marsteller Advertising Brussels, COO of Havas Conseil Marsteller France, Global Director of Young & Rubicam NY, CEO & founder of Young & Rubicam / Sovero Moscow, CEO of Dentsu & Rubicam Singapore, Executive Director of the International Communications Agency Network (ICOM) a $3 billion network of 80 agencies across 60 countries. Now Adjunct Professor at DU's Daniels College of Business, & Chairman of the Daniels Marketing Advisory Board. Author of 'Moscow Meets Madison Avenue, The Adventures of the First American Adman in the USSR' (HarperCollins 1992).
Vasa Dasan, IT entrepreneur & Assoc. Director of CU's software development organization
Vasa builds, manages, and leads the software development organization in the Office of Information Technology at the University of Colorado – Boulder, where he is also a faculty member at the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Previously at Symplified, a single sign-on startup recently acquired by RSA a division of EMC, and CTO at Wayin, a mobile and web engagement platform. Vasa spent more than 15 years at Sun Microsystems where he was Chief Technologist for the Cloud Computing Practice, and spent more than a decade as Distinguished Engineer for Sun’s $5.1 billion SunService division. Doctorate in Computer Science from Colorado State University.
Chris McDonald, CEO & Founder of Registria
Founder and CEO of Registria, the leader in product registration and customer on-boarding for consumer electronics and appliance manufacturers. Formed in 2013 in partnership with private equity investor Housatonic Partners. Chris is a leading thinker in applying technology, data, and analytics for improved marketing performance. Ex-President of MDC Partners Performance Marketing Group, and EVP and GM of Abacus, formerly a $100+ million division of DoubleClick and now within Epsilon. While at Abacus, he led the company’s business in North America. Chris holds a BA from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in management science from Purdue University.
Blake Waltrip, CEO of a2 Milk, USA
Began in corporate finance and investment banking prior to an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA; a rewarding career in marketing and management followed; pioneered the Nestle Beverage Company entry into category management; as VP Marketing and General Manager for Celestial Seasonings, he and his team successfully grew the business by roughly 50% over a two-year period prior. Joined Quinoa Corporation as the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer and soon transitioned to CEO - now CEO US for The a2 Milk Company; Blake has sat on the board of a number of growth stage consumer products companies, consults for the Unreasonable Institute.
